If you spend any time on TikTok (do us a favor and follow us pretty please with a cherry on top?!?), you may have seen this Green Goddess Salad recipe from Baked By Melissa. A friend sent it to us. and we just knew we had to try it.

Needless to say, this Green Goddess Salad is quick and easy to make. After you try it, this salad will quickly become a go to for the entire family. It’s light, airy and oh so refreshing with the lemon juice that is squeezed into the dressing.

What is a Green Goddess Salad?

A Green Goddess Salad is anything really, it’s more about the dressing! The salad contains vegetables that are green in color.

Once you taste the Green Goddess Dressing, you’ll want to pour it on everything. The last time we made this recipe we doubled the ingredient recipe and ended up pouring the dressing over the top of grilled chicken…needless to say, it was AMAZING!

What does Green goddess dressing taste like?

The Green Goddess Salad dressing is super light and airy. The lemon juice is the perfect touch.

Ingredients to make the Green Goddess Salad: Cabbage, lettuce, lemons, cucumbers, garlic, olive oil, shallot

Ingredients for Salad and Dressing

  • cabbage – this is the base of the salad recipe
  • cucumbers – any will do English, Persian or seedless cucumbers
  • green onions – to keep the ingredients green and give the salad a bite
  • chives – again gives the salad a nice flavor
  • lemons – you need this, please don’t omit, trust me
  • olive oil – to help liquify the dressing
  • rice vinegar – offsets the sweetness of the lemon
  • garlic – you just need garlic in a dressing recipe
  • shallot – gives the dressing a bit of a bite
  • basil & spinach – fresh basil & spinach helps to thicken the dressing
  • nutritional yeast – adds a cheese flavor
  • walnuts – gives the dressing a nice nutty flavor

How to Store Green goddess salad & dressing

Whether you have any leftovers or if you want to make some ahead to share at a backyard bbq, the salad and dressing will last 2-3 days in an air tight container that’s stored in the refrigerator.

We think this salad is better after sitting in the refrigerator for a few days. It allows the ingredients to soak into the chopped vegetables.
